What Academics Does Davidson Offer?

Our educational mission is to teach all students to think clearly, to make relevant and valid judgments, to discriminate among values, and to communicate freely with others in the realm of ideas. We focus on developing humane instincts and disciplined, creative minds. To this end, Davidson College has designed an educational experience grounded in the liberal arts. 

As a Davidson student, you will learn to analyze complex questions rigorously and to express yourself compellingly to multiple audiences. You will take intellectual risks because you will live with equally talented people whose backgrounds differ from your own. Collaborating across boundaries of race, economic status and political affiliation, Davidson students serve the common good.

Davidson offers 29 majors and the opportunity for students to design their own major through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. In addition, Davidson offers 40 minors, including 14 interdisciplinary minors.
